| My daughter is a student at Clairton elementary. There were 4 bomb threats last year. Children were taken from the school and placed in a garage and public works building. No one bothered to notify parents. Police refused to tell parents what happened to their children. The student spent hours standing in a garage in the cold waiting for word of mouth to get around to parents that their child was in danger. They also put my five year old in detention for not completing an art project on time without notifying me she was being held after school. I went to pick her up and was told she was in detention, a 5 year old. When I questioned the principal she replied we have a lot of 5 year old in detention. That's a norm for this school and no one seems to think this is disturbing. Sincerely, L. Contis |
