Caring Learning Environment, Nov 26, 2007 |
| Rosemount High School is a supportive learning environment. My son was very nervous about attending a large high school. Yet the teachers have created smaller learning groups within the larger school to help the school feel smaller. He has a cohort of peers/friends in his core academic areas. The teachers encourage students to use technology (like email and instant messaging) to keep in touch with their peers outside of school and to use study buddies to be successful learners. There are learning opportunities outside the school day like Science Olympiad, First Robotics, Marching Band, sports, musicals, plays, debate, the list goes on and on. I think the thing that surprised me the most is the caring supportive learning environments and how many people from teachers, administrators, to students that my son knows by name. |
