    MONTGOMERY — Sweet Water High School’s game against St. Jude Christian on the road put perspiration on the heads of Bulldogs fans for one of the few times this year, or at least the first half of the team’s 24th straight win did.

    The top-ranked Class 1A Sweet Water High School Bulldogs completed their regular season with a 9-0 record as they beat the Patriots of American Christian, ranked fifth in Class 2A, 40-7 last Friday night in Tuscaloosa. The Bulldogs jumped out of the gate early as quarterback Drew Luker scored on a 26-yard keeper with 9:52 left in the first quarter.

    Jane Alice Etheredge, 76, of Sweet Water died Nov. 4, 2007 at USA Medical Center in Mobile. She was born Feb. 11, 1931 in Selma. She was a member of Aimwell Baptist Church. She was a retired paper mill accounts payable supervisor.
