Amity Regional High School, One of the Best!, Dec 05, 2008 |
| Both my children attended Amity HS. We moved to the Amity area so that our boys could get a great education. They were very different academically and both were served very well. Both got into top schools and are doing very well. I agree that Amity expects their students to perform, but shouldn't all schools? Even though the Amity towns are quite affluent, the students at AHS are very generous with their time and money when it comes to helping those less fortunate. I wish that I had the opportunity to attend Amity. It has produced some outstanding alums, including the current president of Georgetown U. Amity was recently named by Connecticut Magazine one of the top public high schools in Connecticut. As far as I am concerned, it IS the BEST! |

Reap what you sow!, Apr 01, 2007 |
| A few quotes I will share with my friends and colleagues about Amity Regional High School. " The pressure to make lots of money, like there parents"...." influenced and brainwashed"...." if some students can't, this is due to learning disabilities"......" The school simply is known to just push them aside, or pile them up with the retards and dead beats". Could this be one of the causes drug use is so prevalent in the suburbs? |

Moment of Clarity, Mar 14, 2007 |
| Amity Regional Senior High School is an interesting place. The students at Amity seem to always be pressured by friends, family, there small ritsy towns, and the school itself. The pressure to make lots of money, like there parents, the pressure to be something and someone very important not only to everyone around them but in there communiuty as well. To make everyone around them proud over ideas that the students could care less about because some are just still kids. The students are influenced and brainwashed by rules and manipulation handed down by faculty and even fellow peers. Everyone is required to get 1st, 2nd, and 3rd honors and if some students can't, this is due to a learning disabilites, or just no motavation. The school simply is known to just push them aside, or pile them up with the retards and dead beats, because "if your a Failure at Amity then you should be considered a failure at life as well" (metaphorically speeking in Amity terms). |
