| Cobble Hill is a mid-size school. It is located in the trendy downtown section of Brooklyn with easy access to most subways and highways. It is small enough to allow staff to know each student, but large enough to allow students to get that "high school experience" by joining sports teams and competing against other larger schools. Cobble Hill met New York State's benchmarks for Math and English in 2006, and shows improvements in all areas of accountability. Cobble Hill uses the rich resources available in the downtown area by fostering partnerships with New York Law School, The Brooklyn Historical Society, The Red Hook Youth Court, Red Hook Video Productions,The New York Law Institute (NYLI), Long Island University's (LIU) Liberty Partnership Program, Rotunda Art Gallery, and Weeksville Preservation Society. Presently, students take Saturday classes at NYLI and LIU and receive school and college credit for these courses. Students also take Saturday Dance Classes taught by instructors from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. |
