Parent/Student Reviews:
for Central Park East Secondary School

Number of Reviews: 1

New Beginings, Dec 06, 2006
There have been a lot of negitive statements about all the schools inside the Jackie Robinson Educational Complex. I am a parent in that building and a very active one at that. I will be the first to admitt there have been times when even I said they should close down and start fresh with new students and teachers. Taking the easy way out of something never helped a soul.

All those who feel the school is the worst they have ever seen I would like to ask you how many times have you visited your parent coordinators, wrote the chancellor, been to a PTA meeting, or just simply volunteered your time? It's so simple to point the finger of blame in someone else's direction while standing in the thick of the crowd, but try standing alone and fighting a good fight for your child and your community.

We want to hear your suggestions on how to make the school a better place for our kids to develope their skills and receive the type of education we hear children in the suburbs are receiving. It won't happen unless you make an effort of at least one day per week or per month to come and spend a day volunteering. There's always plenty to do. Then stand back and watch how much better situations become.
