Old Student at Skinner Elementary School, Oct 17, 2007 |
| I attended Skinner Elementary School many many years ago. My mother was also a teacher's assistant there. This school has always been the best in my opinion, what I remember most about the school was its diversity. Though I did not realize it then, being around the mixture of Hispanics, Asians, Blacks and other races taught me early on about people difference that has been instrumental in my learning about tolerance and love for others. My family and I were forced to leave the area when a large high school was built that took our Adams Street home. I left Chicago years ago to live in Tennessee, Texas and now Mississippi. But, my memories always go back to home Chicago. God Bless Skinner School!!! |
