Former Student from Butler Traditional High School, Nov 19, 2008 |
| I graduated from Butler in 2005. All I can say is going to this school vs. a private school was the worse decision of my life. Learning isn't encouraged, those who succeed do so on their own and are rewarded for it, while those who possess average academic abilities and below average are stuck to fend for themselves. The reason this school has such high grades is that intelligent students are forced to go to a school close to home instead of succeeding in a great school, allowing Butler to look like its teaching its students. I know I might sound like an angry graduate who barely passed, but I was in the top of my class and I don't believe going to Butler had anything to do with it. If anything I was never challenged by the light coursework. Going into college was hard because I spent four years of high school doing nothing. I never learned to study and now in college I am suffering for it. So before you think about Butler for yourself or your children, think about being challenged and encouraged to learn. If you must pick a public school pick Manual or Male. Manual is rated the #1 school in KY, why would you not want your kids to succeed in such a great school. Stop stunting KY's children's growth, let them learn in a great environment. Butler is not a great learning environment. |

Butler is amazing, Aug 15, 2007 |
| I just graduated from Butler in May. It is an amazing school, the teachers are friendly, they are very knowledgeable about their subjects, and they are very helpful. The school is very disciplined as a whole, and the teachers are there to teach, not to discipline. There are not really any discipline problems, and learning is occurring in the classroom, the whole class period. |
