JROTC - Instructor Harrassment, Feb 26, 2008 |
| My son is a student at Wooster High School and has been an intricate part of the JROTC program in that school for several years. Until this past year he had minor issues with Col. Shields, the Jr./Sr. instructor of the program. This instructor verbally assaulted not only my child but many of his classmates. His transgressions were brought to the attention of the Principal, Dean of Discipline, and School Superintendent. Unfortunately, the Washoe County School District only FORCED him to apologize and is now ALLOWING his continued abusive behavior to continue. I find it deplorable that educators in Reno, NV would condone such horrific behavior and turn the other cheek to it. Col. Shields should be stripped of his position at Wooster High School and NEVER be allowed to teach again. As for the principal, Debra Biersdorff, she should be demoted to a janitor based on her obvious love for garbage (i.e. JROTC Col. Shields). Ms. Biersdorff was approached by a student who had concerns about Instructor Shields only to be told he was a liar. Is this the type of behavior that is acceptable to the City of Reno and the Washoe County School District? I ask that there be a full investigation of Col. Shields and the Administration of Wooster High School. |
