IB Middle Years, Apr 03, 2007 |
| What is not included in these test scores is that Paisely is an IB Middle Years program. Grades 6-10 are housed here together. The first 6th grade group to start was in 2002-2003. That group is now in the 10th grade. The school is dynamic and the work load intense. There is not testing for entry into the program, only a commitment to do the work. Many in Winston-Salem miss this amazing school experience because it does not follow the state's academically gifted notation, and the school sits in the "hood." For this parent, I would gladly trade the title of "AG" or "HAG" for the quality of education she has received here. The work has been at the highest level. The teachers are pushed from every angle, including involved parents. The principal is retiring this year. Paisley stands to grow quicker if someone would focus some attention on promoting the school to the professional teaching community. The caliber of teachers is what separates this school in combination with the curriculum and motivated students. |
