| My family recently moved from Virginia Beach and the school system here is much different. My son used to complain about going to school and sometimes tried to stay home from school "playing sick". But since he came to Bland, I can't keep him home. He hardly ever misses a day and if he does, he is pretty upset about it. He is always staying after for band, track, football games, dances, etc, etc. I hardly get to see him anymore. He is always talking about how much he enjoys school now and I think its because of the smaller classes. More one on one with the students. Small town values, everybody knows everybody. The community acts together to make sure your child is going down the right path. Teachers are not afraid to teach the children in the school or correct them if needed. Parents and teachers work together and I think that THAT in itself is one of the most important parts of having a great school. |
