Students, teachers, and parents are welcomed at the front sidewalk, as they arrive in the morning. While walking to their block classes they are greeted by their classroom teachers. Teachers utilize a variety of research-proven teaching methods to reach each child. Communication is two-way and consistant. Many activities are provided for the students daily. Morning and afterschool academics and athletics are offered. The Effective School Research, multiple intelligence factors, cooperative learning, and technology throughout thematic units are utilized. SOL scores increase at least 10% yearly, with a goal of 95% trying to close the achievement gap between socioeconomic groups. |
