T.H. Rogers Elementary School: My experience, Feb 19, 2008 |
| My son goes to T.H. Rogers. He comes home with a lot of homework, but that doesn't matter because he learns a lot. He finishes homework at around 5 or 6 P.M. The teachers are nice and friendly. I recommend that you send your children here. Education does matter in this school, making T.H. Rogers an exemplary school. This school has a very good vanguard program. |

Insane at TH Rogers Elementary School, Nov 01, 2007 |
| TH Rogers Elementary School puts out so much homework per day that the kids stay up well past eleven PM on any given day, just to get their day-to-day assignments done. In the process, they lose what appreciation they have for the subjects, however much they may have excelled in these very areas in the past. It has become a matter of one-up-manship, where only grades matter, and finishing assignments, no matter what. All sense of wonder and discovery for education is pretty much left in the dust in the very first week of school. It is about DOING rather than KNOWING. 90 minutes a day is what the teachers are supposed to limit HW to -- yeah, maybe PER subject. I am afraid to complain directly to the school because there might be that petty aspect where they will start penalizing my kid in indirect ways. |
