Furley needs to unfurl, May 19, 2005 |

Teachers at Furley are more interested in giving negative reviews about your child. My child's teacher complains that he does not do homework--we do homework every night. I had hoped to have a more responsible child. However, it is no consolation to be told that he is intelligent and able to do good work, but refuses. Whatever happened to "It takes a village." My child was recommended for counseling, but it never came, even though I agreed to it. One of the frames on Furleys walls infers that children are like flowers, some bloom before others. Nice words...but least we forget... everything needs nurturing. I understand that the city has put great economic stress on its schools, however our children need praise more than reprimand. |
