| My daughter enter Dripping Springs as a 1st grader. Our experience was anything but exemplary. The DS School system was overflowing with a large percentage of children that did not speak english along with almost 30% of the class being "troubled" children. Problems were ignored and nothing was done to protect the children from the threatening behavior of others. Our class was "evacuated" half a dozen times from the behavior of a single child. Only during the last few weeks of the year did the school system add an additional assistant to curb the problems. This is my second year in the DSISD and again there are children that the teacher can not seem to control, at the expense of the others. After residing in Dripping Springs almost two years I have heard of many of these instances from other mothers. They are not the exception. My daughter is now behind because of all the chaos in her classrooms. She does not enjoy school or her subjects. This is a child that was labeled "gifted" prior to us coming to Dripping Springs. We chose this school specifically for its impressive ratings. I am sadly disappointed and want everyone to know that Dripping Springs is not what they claim. |
