GO WARRIORS! GO NY GIANTS!, Jul 12, 2008 |
| Recently I have just finished my 7th grade year and in the fall I will be entering my last year at Markham Place Middle School as an 8th grader. Since my first year at Markham as a 5th grader, I have learned and grown immensely. All of the teachers are great successors and teach/treat every student with great care, respect, patience, knowledge and most importantly, guides them on an intelligent, bright road to a successful future. Plus, the students have fun learning too. Markham Place School has a placid, safe, fun and friendly environment that every student feels comfortable and enjoys being there. Mr. Merce, our past principal, did such a tremendous job maintaining our wonderful school and its environment. However, to our dismay, Mr. Merce passed away due to a severe car accident on May 6, 2008. He took on the role as the Markham principal 19 years ago and went beyond every expectation. Mr. Merce was the best principal any school could ask for. He was kind, caring, funny, intelligent, an immensely hard-worker and the list goes on. Mr. Merce took the time to meet every student, learn about them, teach them valued traits and care for everyone of them in different, special ways. I can honestly say that he has positively impacted each and every student that has learned at Markham Place Middle School, past and present. His love and care, and his worship to the New York Giants, will be remembered at Markham Place forever. At present, the Little Silver Board of Education has selected our new principal. Starting on August 1, 2008, Mr. Dennis Morolda will begin his role as principal. On behalf of the school community we would like to give him a warm welcome. In summary, Markham Place is a strong, magnificent middle school. The sporting events for all our teams, the Warriors, are exciting, our class trips are educational and pleasurable, our fund raisers are enjoyable and successful and on top of everything, our memories are everlasting. I love Markham Place School and I definitely do not want to graduate and leave next semester but I know that I will be leaving with great knowledge, consequential traits, and learned lessons with a big thanks to all of my teachers there and an immense thank you to Mr. Merce, I probably would not have made it through middle school without him. Thank you. GO WARRIORS! =) |

| Markham Place School is an excellent school. I loved going there and all of the teachers were so nice and helpful. They always knew when you needed help. Sometimes you didn't even know that you were learning because you were having so much fun. I loved Markham and Mr. Merce (the principal) was so fun to be around. He was wonderful and you always grow to love him. He may seem tough at first, but he's really really nice and cool. |
