| Harvard Avenue Community Elementary School was excellent when it came to education. My son left there mid year when we moved out of state and was a world ahead of classmates, as well as other children in Cleveland. My son was in Mrs. Tidemores kindergarten class and I must admit they took time and taught daily. I could sneak in and have no worries about finding anything wrong. The front desk staff was pleasant and the principal was always nice. Although I think this was an overall great school of course there are a few things that are the pits. THE PARKING SUCKS. The lot was one way in and one way out, so if you got stuck you were there for a while and if you're picking up you better be early or late for the bell. Also the breakfast which I payed for daily there was only a 15 minute window between the time breakfast started and the time children were made to leave the breakfast room, which if you were even five minutes behind forget it because if your child couldn't pour cereal and milk down their throat at the same time they wouldn't eat. So I began to make breakfast daily. Anyway the good here is great and the bad really isn't so bad, but you must be in touch with your children because my motto is every school has a valedictorian and every school has a drop out. So you must monitor what your child does because the teacher can be the best but if the parent and child is not working with them what's the point. |
