News for Central High School (in Arkansas):

  • It's past time for the Cougars to have indoor facilities (Helena Daily World) (Fri, 16 Nov 2007 00:13:15 GMT)
I've said it numerous times and I have gotten a lot of support on that opinion. Central High School desperately needs an indoor training facility. During the last two seasons covering Central in their current football cycle, I have followed the Cougars across the state.

  • Veterans remembered at BIC High School (Northeast Arkansas Town Crier) (Thu, 15 Nov 2007 17:12:56 GMT)
Buffalo Island veterans were honored on Thursday, Nov. 8, at Buffalo Island Central High School in a special Veteran’s Day recognition program held in the Mustang Athletic Complex in Monette.

  • Cougar defensive unit named Daily World Players of the Week (Helena Daily World) (Thu, 15 Nov 2007 00:13:14 GMT)
For the second time this season a group of young men so dominated their opponent that it left no doubt as to whom the Daily World Player of the Week award should go.

  • Cougars run roughshod over Robinson Thursday (Helena Daily World) (Tue, 06 Nov 2007 00:13:14 GMT)
Two wins and they were in. The Central High School Cougars knew this formula before their contest on Oct. 26 against Little Rock McClellan. With two games left to guarantee themselves a place in the 5-A state playoffs, they needed to beat the McClellan Lions and the Pulaski Robinson Senators.

  • Playoffs begin with three area teams expected to win (Helena Daily World) (Fri, 09 Nov 2007 00:13:13 GMT)
It's finally here. The post season is here and all four active football programs in Phillips County are in for the first time in more than five years.

  • Update: Fans Take Home History from Ray Winder Yard Sale (FOX 16 Little Rock) (Thu, 08 Nov 2007 03:46:36 GMT)
Fans turned out in a big way picking up everything from stadium signs to original box seats at the Travs one of a kind sale at Ray Winder Field.

  • Update: Fans Take Home History from Ray Winder Yard Sale (CW Arkansas) (Thu, 08 Nov 2007 03:33:26 GMT)
Fans turned out in a big way picking up everything from stadium signs to original box seats at the Travs one of a kind sale at Ray Winder Field. The Arkansas Travelers didn't really know what kind of response they would receive for the Ray Winder Yard sale.

  • T-Bird, Cougar named Daily World Players of the Week (Helena Daily World) (Wed, 07 Nov 2007 00:13:26 GMT)
A Central defender and a DeSoto running back share the week 10 Daily World Player of the Week honors. DeSoto's appearance in the post season was guaranteed before their Friday night win. Central found out after their Thursday game that they qualified for the state playoffs.

  • Monette class of '57 celebrates 50 years (Northeast Arkansas Town Crier) (Tue, 06 Nov 2007 16:42:37 GMT)
The Monette High School Class of 1957 celebrated a 50-year reunion on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the First Baptist Church family life center in Monette.

  • Cougar defensive unit named Daily World Players of the week (Helena Daily World) (Tue, 30 Oct 2007 23:13:15 GMT)
The Central High School Cougars are on the edge of getting back to the state playoffs for the first time since 2004. A big reason for that possibility has not, until now, received the credit they are due.
