    Former Saline County Prosecuting Attorney Robert Herzfeld has announced as a candidate for the county’s new circuit judgeship, which is nonpartisan. The position was created during the last legislative session.

    Formed just this school year, the Benton High School robotics team won a title in the Mid-South BEST Regional robotic competition. And it was no easy feat to place second against eight other teams. BEST stands for boosting engineering, science and technology.

    Mass Brass will present its first concert of the 2007-08 season at 3 p.m. Sunday at Butler Auditorium on the Benton High School campus. Mass Brass, under the direction of Dr. Wes Branstine, is a 21-piece brass choir with percussion.
