    Student arrests at Leon County schools were down Aug. 20 to Sept. 30 compared to the same time period last year.

    The third-graders at Apalachee Tapestry Magnet School of the Arts performed Temples and Tombs. This performance was a dramatization of events that occurred during the ancient Egyptian time period. Students worked closely with the arts team to design works of art for this performance.

    Our Fairview MAO students started the new math competition season off with a bang. They brought home 19 trophies and first place in every category in which we competed. Please congratulate these students and their sponsor, Ms. King. Our math students rock!

    The media center held the Fall Book Fair last week. We had a fun family night with a chili-cook-off, drumming by our fifth graders and the book fair. A special thank you to the women from Kappa Delta Pi at FSU, who helped run the book fair on Thursday evening.
