A 21-month-old girl lost her life on Friday when she wandered away and gained access to an above-ground pool. Cheyanne Marie Dively of Williamsburg was attending a picnic at a private residence on Krug Road in Clearfield Township when the incident occurred, according to state police in Ebensburg.

HOLLIDAYSBURG - The number of criminal cases being filed in Blair County this year is on a record pace, one reason some suspects in jail are not being brought to trial within the state-mandated 180 days, President Judge Jolene Kopriva said. She said the volume of cases is a "complicating factor," but that the justice system must step up and address the problem.
