    HOLLIDAYSBURG - Blair County's jury commissioners say they will call more, and excuse fewer, local residents from jury duty in 2009. Commissioner Francis E. Kuhn said recent turnout by county residents for selection of criminal court juries was not good. He said only 213 residents appeared for jury duty last Monday.

    An Altoona man's marijuana-selling business was shut down Thursday night when city police arrested him and seized his stash. Steven M. Kifer, 26, of 1023 Fourth Ave. is in Blair County Prison charged with delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communications facility, possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    HOLLIDAYSBURG, BLAIR COUNTY --- A man accused of trying to kill a Blair County woman pleads guilty. Gordon Bonge accepted a plea deal for attempted murder, kidnapping, burglary and robbery charges Thursday morning. Blair County Judge Jolene Kopriva sentenced him just minutes later.
