    35 years ago in East Liverpool, Earl Tweed, Linda Morris and Angela Morris were all murdered inside Tweed's furniture store. The motive apparently was robbery, but we don't know for sure, because the crime remains unsolved-- as do a number of others throughout Columbiana County. Today, on the anniversary of the Tweed and Morris murders, families of unsolved murder victims gathered to remember.

  • Sheriff to provide police dispatching (Salem News) (Tue, 29 Jul 2008 11:16:30 GMT)
    The Columbiana County Sheriff will also provide police dispatching for the Perry Township after trustees approved a resolution Monday. The police dispatching agreement with the city of Salem expires on Aug. 1 per the agreement reached under the old fire district contract. The contract with the sheriff will provide dispatching for the police and fire departments combined for about $18,000 a year.
