    CADIZ - Harrison County will soon be turning the key in the big door and will see its jail open once again. In March, funding woes forced Sheriff Mark Miller to slam shut the facility's door and ship prisoners to other counties. Most were then housed in the Jefferson County Jail, increasing time and expenses for transporting those people between Cadiz and Steubenville.

    A Harrison County woman is accused of stealing prescription drugs and forms from the dentist's office where she worked. Prosecutors said Brandy Wilt took prescription pads from the dentist's office and filled them out for Oxycontin.

    CADIZ - Village leaders were updated on several issues during Thursday night's council meeting, including the possibility of receiving defibrillators to assist in saving lives. Water and sewer Superintendent Tom Carter and Councilman Mike McPeek reported on a meeting held Sept. 30 at the Puskarich Public Library to promote the Eastern Ohio Automated External Defibrillator Initiative.
