KIRKSVILLE - Gov. Matt Blunt announced a new initiative against illegal immigration in Kirksville Tuesday afternoon. Blunt told a small crowd outside the Adair County Courthouse he would seek legislation to prohibit illegal immigrants from obtaining a Missouri driver's license.

The Adair County Ambulance District is back at square one regarding their search for a new administrator. The last administrator, Jason Albert was fired in May, nearly seven months ago. The board has gone through the interviewing process twice, meeting with a handful of candidates each time.

KIRKSVILLE - The fate of sub-district boundaries in the election of Adair County Nursing Home District Board members is now in the hands of a judge. Adair County Circuit Court Judge Russell Steele listened to testimony at a hearing Monday and said he would take the matter into consideration.

KIRKSVILLE - The ribbon may have been cut already but there is still some work to be done on Highway 63. The road got one step closer to completion Friday morning when crews opened up the northbound lanes, between Kirksville and Millard, Mo. That section had been just one lane.
