    OVERLAND PARK | A battery charge has been dismissed against a former Overland Park teacher. The Overland Trail Elementary School music teacher, who retired after the incident, took a tambourine from a kindergarten child and tried to toss it behind him on a desk, but it struck a boy. Parents contacted police and pressed for the municipal charge but later decided not to pursue it, police said.
