    News-Democrat The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded grants to organizations in Madison County to help rehabilitate residential properties in the county.

    Authorities are investigating what is being described as a homicide in the 7300 block of Harris Court in rural Bethalto. Madison County deputies were dispatched to the scene around 10:10 p.m. Sunday. The area is just north and west of Fosterburg.
