A wildfire feeding on half-century-old brush posed a threat Thursday to 200 canyon homes in the Santa Ynez Mountains above communities on the southern Santa Barbara County coastline. The Gap Fire, one of hundreds burning in California, was estimated to have burned 2,400 acres, equivalent of nearly 4 square miles, since it broke out Tuesday evening. Containment was estimated at just 5 percent.
