Oregon School Rankings

Oregon Public K-12 School Rankings are based on data from the School Report Cards provided by Oregon Department of Education. There are two sets of rankings:

  • Standard Rankings:

      Kids
    • Elementary Schools: Percentage of 3rd Grade students exceeding standards in Reading and Math; Percentage of 5th Grade stdents exceeding standards in Reading and Math.
    • Middle Schools: Percentage of 8th Grade students exceeding standards in Reading and Math.
    • High Schools: Percentage of 10th Grade students exceeding standards in Reading and Math.

    You have the option of (i) Ranking all schools in the State of Oregon (choose "All Counties" in the toolbar to the left), (ii) Comparing individual counties (choose "County Vs. County"), and (iii) Comparing all schools in a given county (choose, for example, "Charleston" County). To view FREE public school rankings from a prior year, simply click on the "Rank" button on the toolbar to the left. The most recent rankings are available for subscribers only. Subscription fee is $8.33/month (1-year term). Sign up here.


  • Customized Rankings (Subscribers Only) are based on the following:

      Learning
    • Elementary Schools: Can choose any or all of the following: 3rd grade Reading and Math; 5th grade Reading and Math; Percentage of students exceeding standards; Percentage of students meeting or exceeding standards.
    • Middle Schools: Can choose any or all of the following: 8th grade Reading and Math; Percentage of students exceeding standards; Percentage of students meeting or exceeding standards.
    • High Schools: Can choose any or all of the following: 10th grade Reading and Math; Percentage of students exceeding standards; Percentage of students meeting or exceeding stadards.

    With the Customized Ranking, you can choose any or all of the counties. Subscription fee is $8.33/month (1-year term). Sign up here.

Notes:

  • The scores are percentages of students passing each test.
  • Results presented on this site are for All Students; we do not break down the results for different racial/gender/economic groups.
  • Starting in 2005, in any school where the percentage of students at a grade level is greater than 95% or less than 5%, Oregon Department of Education does not display the actual values. In these cases, the results will be shown as 95% or 5% for the school.
  • Oregon Department of Education changed the standard, the percent of students meeting the standard in 2006-07 is not comparable to the previous years' results.
