Mississippi School Rankings

Mississippi Public K-12 School Rankings are based on data from the Mississippi Assessment and Accountability Reporting System provided by Mississippi Department of Education. There are two sets of rankings:

  • Standard Rankings:

      Kids
    • Elementary Schools: Percentage of 3rd Grade students at the Advanced Level in Reading, Language and Math; Percentage of 4th Grade students at the Advanced Level in Reading, Language and Math; Percentage of 5th Grade students at the Advanced Level in Reading, Language and Math.
    • Middle Schools: Percentage of 7th Grade students at the Advanced Level in Reading, Language and Math; Percentage of 8th Grade students at the Advanced Level in Reading, Language and Math.
    • High Schools: Percentage of students passing English and Algebra.

    You have the option of (i) Ranking all schools in the State of Mississippi (choose "All Districts" in the toolbar to the left), (ii) Comparing individual districts (choose "District Vs. District"), and (iii) Comparing all schools in a given district (choose, for example, "Jackson Public" District). To view FREE public school rankings from a prior year, simply click on the "Rank" button on the toolbar to the left. The most recent rankings are available for subscribers only.   • Customized Rankings (Subscribers Only) are based on the following:

      Learning
    • Elementary Schools: Can choose any or all of the following: 3rd grade Reading, Language and Math; 4th grade Reading, Language and Math; 5th grade Reading, Language and Math; Percentage of students at advanced level; Percentage of students at proficiency level or better; Percentage of students at basic level or better.
    • Middle Schools: Can choose any or all of the following: 7th grade Reading, Language and Math; 8th grade Reading, Language and Math; Percentage of students at advanced level; Percentage of students at proficiency level or better; Percentage of students at basic level or better.
    • High Schools: Can choose any or all of the following: English, Algebra, Biology, US History; Percentage of students Passing

  • District scores are calculated from the average scores of schools in the district. This may not represent the true results for the districts since student population varies from school to school.
  • Results presented on this site are for All Students; we do not break down the results for different racial/gender/economic groups.
