Hawaii School Rankings
Hawaii Public K-12 School Rankings
are based on data from the
Hawaii State Assessment
provided by
Hawaii Department of Education.
There are two sets of rankings:

Standard Rankings:
- Elementary Schools:
Percentage of 3rd Grade students exceeding standards in Reading and Math; Percentage of 4th Grade students exceeding standards in Reading and Math; Percentage of 5th Grade students exceeding standards in Reading and Math.
- Middle Schools:
Percentage of 7th Grade students exceeding standards in Reading and Math; Percentage of 8th Grade students exceeding standards in Reading and Math.
- High Schools:
Percentage of 10th Grade students exceeding standards in Reading and Math.
You have the option of (i) Ranking all schools in the State
of Hawaii (choose "All Areas" in the toolbar to the left),
(ii) Comparing individual Complex Areas (choose "Area Vs Area"), and
(iii) Comparing all schools in a given Complex Area (choose, for example, "F-Kaiser").
To view FREE public school rankings from a prior year, simply
click on the "Rank" button on the toolbar to the left. The
most recent rankings are available for subscribers only.

Customized Rankings (Subscribers Only)
are based on the following:
- Elementary Schools:
Can choose any or all of the following: 3rd grade Reading and Math; 4th grade Reading and Math; 5th grade Reading and Math; Percentage of students exceeding standards; Percentage of students meeting or exceeding standards.
- Middle Schools:
Can choose any or all of the following: 7th grade Reading and Math; 8th grade Reading and Math; Percentage of students exceeding standards; Percentage of students meeting or exceeding standards.
- High Schools:
Can choose any or all of the following: 10th grade Reading and Math; Percentage of students exceeding standards; Percentage of students meeting or exceeding stadards.
With the Customized Ranking, you can choose any or all of the counties.

- Complex Area scores are calculated from the average scores of schools in the Complex Area. This may not represent the true results for the Complex Areas since student population varies from school to school.
- Results presented on this site are for All Students; we do
not break down the results for different racial/gender/economic groups.
- The 2006 assessment data are not available from the Hawaii Department
of Education. On this website, the 2006 HI data are copied from the 2007 HI
data.
