Arizona School Rankings

Arizona Public K-12 School Rankings are based on the Arizona's Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) provided by Arizona Department of Education. There are two sets of rankings:

  • Standard Rankings:

      Kids
    • Elementary Schools: Percentage of 3rd Grade students exceeding standards in Math, Reading, and Writing; Percentage of 5th Grade students exceeding standards in Math, Reading, and Writing;
    • Middle Schools: Percentage of 7th Grade students exceeding standards in Math, Reading, and Writing; Percentage of 8th Grade students exceeding standards in Math, Reading, and Writing;
    • High Schools: Percentage of 10th Grade students exceeding standards in Math, Reading, and Writing;

    You have the option of (i) Ranking all schools in the State of Arizona (choose "All Counties" in the toolbar to the left), (ii) Comparing individual counties (choose "County Vs. County"), and (iii) Comparing all schools in a given county (choose, for example, "Maricopa" County). To view FREE public school rankings from a prior year, simply click on the "Rank" button on the toolbar to the left. The most recent rankings are available for subscribers only. Subscription fee is $8.33/month (1-year term). Sign up here.


  • Customized Rankings (Subscribers Only) are based on the following:

      Learning
    • Elementary Schools: Can choose any or all of the following: 3rd grade Math, Reading, and Writing; 4th grade Math, Reading, and Writing; 5th grade Math, Reading, and Writing; Percentage of students exceeding standards; Percentage of students meeting or exceeding standards.
    • Middle Schools: Can choose any or all of the following: 7th grade Math, Reading, and Writing; 8th grade Math, Reading, and Writing; Percentage of students exceeding standards; Percentage of students meeting or exceeding standards.
    • High Schools: Can choose any or all of the following: 10th grade Math, Reading, and Writing; 11th grade Math, Reading, and Writing; 12th grade Math, Reading, and Writing; Percentage of students exceeding standards; Percentage of students meeting or exceeding standards.

Notes:
  • Results presented on this site are for All Students; we do not break down the results for different racial/gender/economic groups.
  • Schools with fewer than 10 students are not included.
  • Data for 2005 and 2006 are for Category 1 students, i.e., those who are Fully English Proficient (FEP) or have been learning English for four or more years.
