Alaska Public K-12 School Rankings are based on data from the Alaska Standard Based Assessment (SBA) provided by Alaska Department of Education and Early Development. There are two sets of rankings:

Standard Rankings:
- Elementary Schools: Percentages of students Proficient in Grades 3-5 Reading, Writing, and Math.
- Middle Schools: Percentages of students Proficient in Grades 7-8 Reading, Writing, and Math.
- High Schools: Percentages of students Proficient in Grades 9-10 Reading, Writing, and Math.
You have the option of (i) Ranking all schools in the State of Alaska (choose "All Districts" in the toolbar to the left), (ii) Comparing individual Districts (choose "District Vs. District"), and (iii) Comparing all schools in a given District (choose, for example, "Anchorage" District). To view FREE public school rankings from a prior year, simply click on the "Rank" button on the toolbar to the left. The most recent rankings are available for subscribers only. Customized Rankings (Subscribers Only)
are based on the following:
- Elementary Schools: Can choose either Grades 3, 4, 5, and/or 6. Also can choose Reading, Writing, and/or Math.
- Middle Schools: Can choose either Grades 7 and/or 8. Also can choose Reading, Writing, and/or Math.
- High Schools: Can choose either Grades 9 and/or 10. Also can choose Reading, Writing, and/or Math.
With the Customized Ranking, you can choose any or all of the Counties. Subscription fee is $8.33/month (1-year term). Sign up here.
Notes:
- Results presented on this site are for All Students; we do not break down the results for different racial/gender/economic groups.
- Many schools in Alaska have very few students. The test results for these schools are not accurate because the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development either do not publish the results or the results are rounded to the nearest 5% or 10%.
- Test results for 10th grade are not available for 2005.
